Kate Eggleston-Wirtz



American artist Kate Eggleston-Wirtz has lived in the United Kingdom since1997. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1984 and since then has worked as an illustrator, graphic designer, cartoonist, installation and fine artist. She has exhibited in America, UK and various parts of Europe.

She won two Bronze Awards in 1995 and 1996 in the 7th and 8th Annual 3-Dimensional Art Directors and Illustrators Awards Show in New York City and 3rd Prize in the ìWater Exhibitionî, Society for Art of Imagination 2004 in London.

Kate is best known for her three-dimensional work directed by ideas inspired by found objects and life stories. This work is an interconnection of symbolism, history, journeys, playfulness and imagination often described as visual poetry.

This artist is diverse in her talent and works in a variety of styles including:
drawing, painting, scraperboard, printmaking and computer manipulation.
However, no matter the style, symbolism and imagination is clearly evident.
