I
was born in Seattle Washington on March 27th 1970. I have
been interested in visual arts since I can remember, always
knowing that I had a gift that set me apart from other people.
I tried my hand at studying commercial art at the Art Institute
of Seattle, but it didn't take long for me to realize this
wasn't for me, through encouragement from teachers at AIS
and my own initiative I started attending The School of Visual
Concepts. This was a non-credited well established fine arts
school in Seattle specializing in life drawing and painting.
I spent the next 3 years trading janitorial work for classes
and ended up taking everything that I could including all
oil painting classes, watercolor, pastel and figure drawing
classes. I then diverted my attention to music for a few years,
always keeping up with drawing with pen & ink, charcoal
and pastels as often as possible, but I stopped painting for
about 4 years.
Since 2000 I've had a bit of a revelation about focusing on
my art and painting. I made a great connection through the
internet to the burgeoning Fantastic/Visionary art scene.
From that point I went on to study the Misch technique in
Austria with Prof Philip Rubinov Jacobson and Monaco with
Prof. Ernst Fuchs, making many connections, studying and visiting
with such visionary luminaries as, HR Giger, DE ES, Michael
Fuchs and a few other up and coming younger artists. Upon
my return I was granted full custody of my 4 year old daughter
who is now 10. This event helped me focus even more on the
things that are important to me and I have made painting a
priority in my life again. In recent years I attended a weekend
workshop with Alex Grey and participated with Martina Hoffman
and Robert Venosa in a healing/creativity seminar in Brazil.
I currently play keyboards/samples in a band called Black
Noise Cannon and reside in Seattle painting, playing music
and raising my daughter.
