Andreas Streun
Art and science share my life: physics became the profession,
painting is the mission. Hence I am an amateur as painter
and mainly taught myself (apart from one year of fine arts
at university when I was in doubt about physics). I started
oil painting at the age of 17, took a detour to airbrush and
water colour, and returned to oil in combination with acrylic
and tempera.
My impulse to paint is to materialize visions ranging from
dreams of a brighter, better world to nightmares of insanity.
Depicting the latter had an invaluable therapeutical effect
during some times in the past. Working out the bright side
means to follow a feeling of homesickness.
Born 1960 I am now at an age to reduce a bit on the job and
give more room to art. I'd like to get into contact with artists,
and I want my pictures to be seen – therefore I am here.
