Mendenhall
Ragen Mendenhall is an American artist, born in 1978 in the
city of Las
Vegas, Nevada. She has been artistically inclined since childhood,
and
is mainly a self-taught painter.
Ragen produces highly detailed images that are realistic,
yet
dreamlike, often filled with symbolism that celebrates nature
and
expresses the beauty of the organic world. Emotion plays a
lead role in
her compositions, and it is the dominant interest in the theme
of each
painting. Emotion serves as a universal language, reminding
the viewer
that although unique events in a lifetime shape an individual's
perception of the world, shared collective emotions unite
all humans
and bond us spiritually, through the conduit of empathy.
