Penny
G is a self-taught artist local to the New Forest, Hampshire,
in beautiful Southern England.
Previous years have seen Penny win overall first prize for
the 'Paint a Wildlife Subject' competition which was held
at the Business Design Centre, London, exhibit with the New
Forest Art Society and Local Art Groups, and be commissioned
by Hampshire Brewery and members of Whitesnakes' the 70's
rock band to design labels for them.
Her realist style enables her capture landscapes, portraits
and wild animals including tigers, leopards, wolves and snakes
to name but a few. She also immortalises pets onto canvas.
Penny has a keen interest in conservation, along with her
daughter, who has just returned from a Conservation Project
in Madagascar diving the reefs, and who is now looking to
conserve the Big Cats in Africa.
Penny held her first Solo Exhibition at Highcliffe Castle,
Dorset in May 2006. She has also successfully exhibited at
Marwell Zoo with the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society,
Winchester, and Banham Zoo in Norfolk, helping them to raise
awareness to the plight of endangered species.
This year she illustrated some of Shaun Ellis' book 'The Wolf
Talk' and the originals were auctioned to raise funds for
the Wolf Management Team in Combe Martin, Devon. Penny is
a versatile artist, and beside Wildlife, she thoroughly enjoys
Fantasy Work.
'Guinevere' was recently created and accepted into the exhibition
titled 'Fight of the Imagination', held by the S.O.I. running
from 17th June - 17th October at the H.R. Giger Museum, Chateau
St Germain, Gruyere, Switzerland, and is keen to continue
exhibiting with the Society in the future.
Using both oils and acrylics she welcomes commissions.
