I love to explore the placement of things, piecing parts to uncover and create associations. My art is a manifestation of this process, which I term as 'Urgent Alchemy'. Each new work is a puzzle to me, a process of interlocking forms and alterations that I adjust until I feel that they fit. Antique engravings and etchings fascinate me, so I use them as the basis for this exploration. My main interest is in the fusion of forms and the narratives that emerge.
Art history is the foundation of my visual education. I'm self-trained through lessons learned from the early Surrealists and Dadaists, a love child of Ernst and Magritte. My work draws largely on their legacy, bridging antique to modern.
